Maria Amélia Baptista, crowned Miss World Portugal 2025, uses her platform to champion health and dignity in humanitarian crises, focusing on women’s health issues like menstrual health, cancer awareness among refugees, and breast cancer in young women. As an ambassador for Breast Cancer in Young Women (BCYW), she is dedicated to amplifying the needs of displaced women and girls facing limited access to essential healthcare. Maria Amélia has made it her mission to bring breast health and preventive care into the spotlight. Through her “Transcends” campaign, she distributes menstrual and cancer care kits to women in refugee camps, raising public awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare and hygiene practices, including self-breast care.
