Dr. Arda Isik, a double board-certified surgeon, is a professor of general surgery at Istanbul Medeniyet University School of Medicine. He graduated from Hacettepe University, completed his residency, and gained experience at Helsinki University and UPMC. He holds certifications from FEBS, FACS, FTBS, and FSIS. He also serves on the boards of SIS-E, WSES, and TUGSS. Recognized among the top 2% of scientists as of August 2024 by Stanford University, he is an editorial board member for several prestigious journals, including the British Journal of Surgery, BMC Surgery, and others. His research focuses on breast and endocrine surgery, emergency general surgery, and trauma. With over 300 publications and more than 15,000 citations, he is the second most-cited general surgeon in Türkiye’s history, with an H-index of 51. Prof. Isik has received 10 national and international scientific awards. He has performed more than 1000 medium- and high-level surgical procedures(ICD 9 CM codified). Dr. Isik has been an invited speaker at about 50 national and international congresses and has served as chairman at around 10 events. He has also taught in approximately 10 postgraduate courses and organized roughly 7 national and international congresses and postgraduate courses. Dr. Isik is reaching out to young women and his first circle to promote the BCYW Foundation’s core message and the 2040 Initiative: The First Circle Awareness in Turkey.
