Experience with Cancer at 23
Alexandra shares her personal experience of detecting cancer at a young age through regular self-examination to detect cancer on time.
One day during the quarantine, I was taking a shower and when I was soaping I felt something strange. Due to the size of the tumor, I detected it and went to see a specialist. I still postponed it for a while because of the pandemic. One always looks for an excuse to avoid having a check-up. “Oh yeah, I’ll go next week”, but you don’t realize how important it is to detect anomalies on time. If I hadn’t been urged at home to go for a check-up, I wouldn’t have detected my cancer and I would have thought it was just a lump, part of my body. Finally, when I went, they told me it was cancer.
I recommend regular self-examination 100%. You need to be consistent in doing it, one day it may not be there but then it is, it can happen to anyone and at any age.
It happened to me at 23, thank goodness I felt it, I touched it and checked it on time.

Experiencia con cáncer a los 23 años
Alexandra nos cuenta su propia experiencia de cómo a través del autoexamen periódico logró detectar su cáncer de mama a una edad muy temprana.
Un día durante la cuarentena, me estaba duchando y al jabonarme sentí algo raro. Debido a lo grande que era el tumor, lo detecté y me fui a revisar con un especialista. Igual lo pospuse un tiempo por la pandemia, por el contagio del COVID, etc… Uno siempre busca una excusa para evitar hacerse un chequeo. «Ay ya, la próxima semana voy», pero uno no dimensiona la importancia de detectar anomalías a tiempo. Si a mí no me hubiesen hinchado en mi casa de ir a revisármelo, no hubiese detectado mi cáncer y hubiese pensado que era sólo un bulto, parte de mi cuerpo. Finalmente cuando fui, me dijeron que era cáncer.
Recomiendo el autoexamen regular en un 100%. Es necesaria la constancia de hacerlo, un día puede no estar pero después sí, le puede pasar a cualquier persona y a cualquier edad.
A mí me pasó a los 23, menos mal lo sentí, lo toque y lo revisé a tiempo.
