Dr. Lipton is a Professor at the Penn State University Cancer Center, Hershey, with over 50 years of experience in treating patients with breast cancer and directing an active translational breast cancer research laboratory. Dr. Lipton was instrumental in the development of aromatase inhibitors for breast cancer treatment and is an international leader in the treatment of breast cancer bone metastases over the last few decades. He was the first in the United States to treat patients with Pamidronate and the first in the world to treat bone metastasis patients with Denosumab. Dr. Lipton’s Clinical Research Program has co-authored 376 peer-reviewed articles, trained a large number of breast cancer oncologists, and participated in numerous forward-looking clinical trials. Dr. Lipton is currently focusing on biomarkers for predicting response to therapy and clinical outcomes, as well as on clinical issues faced by young women with breast cancer.
