Dr. Gilberto Amorim is a clinical oncologist with a graduate degree in medicine and a residency in internal medicine at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Presidency in clinical oncology at the National Cancer Institute (INCA), board certified in clinical oncology by the Brazilian Society of Oncology Clinic (SBOC) since 1996. He has attended Breast Cancer patients since the 90s and has worked in a private group, Oncologia D’Or, since 2011. Senior Oncologist at INCA until 2010, and Head of Medical Oncology at Cancer Hospital III for four years, a public hospital dedicated to breast cancer. Dr. Amorim is a volunteer member of the Scientific Committee of NGOs: FEMAMA, present in the 27 states of Brazil, and ONCOGUIA, a prominent advocacy group based in São Paulo. Researcher at the Brazilian Group for Studies on Breast Cancer (GBECAM/LACOG) and a senior member of ASCO and ESMO. He has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in numerous books. Since 2007, it has contributed to the national guidelines for breast cancer management (SBOC).
