Dr. Al-ajmi is a highly experienced consultant and the head of the Breast Cancer Program at SQCCCRC since 2021. Dr. Al-ajmi completed rigorous residencies in general and breast surgery in Scotland and earned prestigious fellowships in FRCS (Glasgow) and FRCSI (Ireland). Dr. Al-ajmi focused on academic cancer medicine and conducted intensive research in breast cancer epidemiology at the Edinburgh Breast at the University of Edinburgh. This culminated in attaining a postgraduate MD from one of the UK’s top-ranking universities. Dr. Al-ajmi sought advanced training in Paris, France, to enhance their skills in intricate breast and reconstructive surgery, including microsurgery. After returning to Oman, Dr. Al-ajmi established the SQUH Breast Unit, introducing pioneering services like the first-ever Breast one-stop clinic, a multidisciplinary approach, and pioneering breast reconstruction surgeries in Oman. Dr. Al-ajmi founded the Oman Breast Cancer Society and held a prestigious research fellowship at the International Prevention and Research Institute in Lyon, Paris. Dr. Al-ajmi is dedicated to global breast health initiatives as a distinguished Global Breast Hub PRIME member. Dr. Al-ajmi is particularly interested in young women’s breast cancer and is championing the shared mission of the BCYW Foundation in Oman and Gulf Countries
