Dr. Fotedar is an accomplished cancer researcher with expertise in the signaling pathways responsible for tumorigenesis. She has made significant contributions to the field of cancer research by defining mechanisms of cell cycle regulation and DNA repair in response to DNA damage and stress signaling. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Alberta and continued her post-doctoral work at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. She has directed research on cell cycle control and DNA damage response as a Professor with the CNRS in Grenoble, France, and later in San Diego. She is a former Professor at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, San Diego, and is currently engaged in community outreach and educational programs. As a council member and past Chair of the California Breast Cancer Research Program, Dr. Fotedar is dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by breast cancer through advancing research and ensuring equal opportunities in training future scientists.
